Embedded Systems Engineer

CEPD has an embedded systems design engineer position open for a candidate with a BSEE or BSECE with at least two years experience. Design experience in schematic capture, HDL, and C programming desired.

CAD designer

Position Overview:
Development of schematics diagrams and layouts for low, medium and high density printed circuit boards. Testing and troubleshooting of electronic designs or software.

Position includes creation and maintenance of a library of schematic symbols and PCB footprints. The candidate will work closely with a senior CAD designer or various Engineers on a variety of projects and tasks.

Position Details/Requirements:
-Associate's degree or working towards an associate's degree in Electronics Technology, or equivalent experience.
-Strong understanding of basic electronics principles with working knowledge of SMT and through-hole electronics components.
-Detail oriented and conscientious. Able to work with minimal supervision.
-Willingness to learn new skills and help wherever needed.
-Effective communicator. Able to interface directly with clients.
-Must be US citizen.

Preferred, but not required:
-Experience with Schematic and PCB layout tools (OrCAD, PADS, Protel, DX designer, Allegro, etc.).
-Prefer PADS and/or OrCAD experience.
-Working knowledge of IPC standards for PCB design.
-Understanding of schematic design rules, impedance matching, and DFM/DFT.
-Able to use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment.
-Able to solder fine-pitch and other surface mount components down to 0402 size.
-3 or more years related experience.
